Burglary near you -Bilberry Close

Dear Resident

You are receiving this because you live in the vicinity of a burglary that occurred on Bilberry Close, this occurred in the early hours of the morning and the method of attack was by blow torch and then snapping the cylinder lock allowing entry.

SUSPECT(s) HAVE ATTENDED THE LOCUS BY UNKNOWN MEANS, THEY HAVE ATTEMPTED TO BURN THE LOCK ON THE SIDE LOCK AND FAILED TO GAIN ENTRY. THEY HAVE THEN MADE THERE WAY TO THE REAR SLIDE DOOR WHERE THEY HAVE SUCCESSFULLY GAINED ENTRY. NO ITEMS TAKEN FROM THE PROPERTY SUSPECTS HAVE THEN MADE OFF BY UNKNOWN MEANS.

Firstly if you have CCTV or a doorbell camera please check it between 6th August into the 7th August to check if you had any activations, especially around 3am-7am

Secondly if you have a door with a cylinder lock (composite or UPVC doors mainly) please check the lock.

Make sure you are satisfied with the rating and is fitted correctly. The locks we recommend have 3 stars written on the front (see image) and are TS007 or SS312 rated. Many firms offer these anti-snap locks. Whilst we do not wish to scare anyone, it is always good to review your own security, and report anything suspicious to the Police. Should you have any information about either burglary please contact us on 101.

Thanks
